Roll-on bottles for cosmetics
A roll-on applies product through a ball that turns in the neck, laying down a thin layer with a light massage. It suits deodorant, eye serum, massage oil and oil-based fragrance. The archive holds over 30 options, from 1 to 75 ml, and the most common size is 10 ml.
Ball material changes the experience. Glass or metal balls conduct temperature and give a cooling sensation, useful around the eyes. Plastic balls are lighter and cheaper, well suited to deodorant. The housing fit has to be calibrated to viscosity: too loose leaks, too tight seizes.

How to choose
Choose the ball by use: stainless steel or glass for the eye area and fragrance, for the cool feel and oil resistance; plastic for deodorant, lighter and cheaper. Set the bottle by formula, with amber glass for essential oils and plastic for larger daily-use sizes. Confirm the fit between ball and housing with the real formula, because too fluid leaks and too thick seizes. Small sizes such as 5 ml and 10 ml suit oil and fragrance; deodorant takes larger sizes.

Frequently asked questions
Glass, metal or plastic ball?
Metal and glass feel cool, glide well and resist oil and alcohol, which is why they appear in fragrance, oil and eye serum. Plastic is lighter and cheaper and suits deodorant. Metal also signals premium. In every case, the ball housing has to be compatible with the formula.
Why does a roll-on leak or seize?
It is almost always the fit between ball and housing relative to viscosity. A formula that is too fluid passes through the gap and leaks; a thick one, or one that dries at the rim, locks the ball. A housing material that swells with oil also seizes. Testing with the real formula, upright and on its side, shows the problem before the batch.
Which roll-on should I use for essential oil or oil-based fragrance?
A glass bottle, preferably amber if any component is light-sensitive, with a stainless steel or glass ball and an oil-resistant housing. Small sizes from 5 ml to 10 ml are standard, because the dose per application is low. A well-sealed screw cap prevents the most volatile components from evaporating.
